PE Filler Compound for Woven Sacks, Non-Woven Cloth & Moulded Parts

What Is It?

Calcium PE Filler is the polyethylene-base counterpart to Nexxa's calcium PP filler — calcium carbonate dispersed into a PE carrier resin rather than PP, for converters whose end product is specified in polyethylene rather than polypropylene. It targets the same core use case as the PP grade — reducing material cost per kilogram by displacing virgin resin — while maintaining the processability a converter's line needs.

How It's Manufactured

Compounded on twin-screw extruders for even CaCO₃ dispersion through the PE carrier, using the same process discipline Nexxa applies across its filler range: controlled temperature and shear profiles tuned to the base resin, so the finished masterbatch feeds and melts predictably at a converter's extruder throat regardless of whether the base is PP or PE.

Manufacturing Process for This Application

Calcium PE filler is let down into virgin PE resin at the converter's own line — extrusion for woven sack tape and blown film, or injection/blow moulding for rigid articles. PE and PP behave differently under heat and shear (different melt temperatures, crystallization behavior, and draw characteristics), so a filler formulated for the PE base specifically, rather than a PP-grade filler used off-label in a PE process, is what keeps let-down ratio and dispersion predictable across these different conversion methods.

Why Polymer Choice Matters Here

Choosing PE over PP as the base resin is usually driven by the end product's own required properties — PE's flexibility and chemical resistance profile suit some woven sack, cloth, and moulded-article specifications better than PP's. Once that resin choice is made, the filler has to match it: a poorly dispersed or inconsistent PE filler produces the same class of problems as in the PP line — filament or tape breaks in continuous extrusion, weak points in fabric, and inconsistent wall thickness in moulded parts — so the filler's quality control matters as much for PE-base products as for PP-base ones.

Why This Compound Is Suited

Nexxa Compounds manufactures calcium PE filler as part of a full PE and PP filler range covering talc, calcium, and barium sulphate loadings, so converters that need a PE-base solution get the same in-house compounding discipline and India-based manufacturing — without freight lead time or minimum-order friction — that the PP line is built on.

Nexxa Compounds is a leading manufacturer of PE Filler compounds for woven sacks, non-woven cloth, blown film & moulded parts applications in India, supplying some of the largest manufacturers across India and internationally.
